Ingredients for Buckwheat (Grecka) Rice Recipe
1 cup buckwheat (grechka)
2 cups of hot water
2-3 tomatoes
1 onion
2 cloves of garlic
Olive oil
Salt, pepper and other seasonings desired
How to Make Buckwheat (Grecka) Rice?
To prepare an odorless buckwheat pilaf, thoroughly wash the buckwheat 10 times in plenty of water. Soak the thoroughly washed buckwheat in hot water for 30 minutes so that it can be cooked more easily. Rinse a few more times after draining the water.
Take the olive oil in the pan. Fry the onions and garlic over medium heat. Then add the peeled and chopped tomatoes to the pot. After this mixture is well roasted, leave the buckwheat for half an hour and then put the buckwheat in the pot. And add the spices, salt.
After taking the buckwheat in the pot, fry it for a few minutes. Then pour 2 cups of hot, non-boiling water over the buckwheat. Close the lid of the pot.
Cook on medium heat until the water boils, and on low heat when it boils, cook the buckwheat until it absorbs its water.
